RDA Europe supports 20 Europeans to attend the RDA 7th Plenary Meeting, 1-3 March, Tokyo, Japan

RDA Europe is running two programmes to facilitate participation of 20 European RDA members to attend the 7th RDA Plenary meeting in Toyko, Japan. 10 RDA Early Career Researchers & Scientists working on data and 10 active RDA members are sought.

Hosted and co-organised by the Japanese Science and Technology Agency (JST) under the theme “Making data sharing work in the era of Open Science” the 7th Research Data Alliance Plenary meeting is taking place in Tokyo, Japan from the 1-3 March 2016 https://rd-alliance.org/plenary-meetings/rda-seventh-plenary-meeting.html

The Research Data Alliance (www.rd-alliance.org) holds its plenary meetings every six months in a different region around the world. These three-day working meetings bring together a unique community of data scientists, librarians, computer and domain scientists, policy makers and strategists to discuss challenges to global data sharing and identify concrete actions and plans going forward. For the first time, RDA is organising its plenary meeting in Asia with the generous support of JST.

RDA Europe is running a Support programme to facilitate the participation of active European RDA members to the upcoming Plenary meeting in Tokyo by covering their travel and subsistence costs. RDA Europe is seeking applications from students and early career professionals in organisations related to the fields of research data sharing and exchange. Travel and subsistence costs will be covered. Applications for the European Early Career programme are open until December 20, 2015 (midnight CET). Organise a meeting at P7. The RDA Plenaries are working events built around the RDA Working Group (WG) and Interest Group (IG) meetings. RDA welcomes Birds of a Feather (BoF) Session applications as a way to propose a new topic for potential RDA Working or Interest groups, apply by December 18, 2015 (17:00 CET) https://rd-alliance.org/plenary-meetings/seventh-plenary/7th-plenary-call-session-proposals.html.
