Early Universe behaved like a fluid

The US Department of Energy has started putting together a series of videos called "Breakthrough," profiling research at various national laboratories. That's how we came across this week's visual.

The Breakthrough videos vary widely in topic, production quality, and style, but several of them cover interesting topics. We particularly liked Brookhaven National Laboratory's video because it clearly explains how the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider works and what they've discovered: that the quark soup that existed in the moments following the Big Bang behaved more like a liquid than a gas.

And, of course, we dig the fact that the video mentions computing, and that the RHIC experiments all use and contribute to advanced computing, which we've written about here at iSGTW before.
