Rolling in the Higgs

Today marks the 10-week anniversary of the 4-July announcement that a particle consistent with the long-sought Higgs boson had been discovered at CERN. So, what better way to celebrate than with this great tune from A Capella Science...

Of course, while you're busy celebrating, you mustn't forget the vital role grid computing played in enabling the Higgs boson discovery. You can read all about this in detail here, or watch a brilliant video on the matter here.

You may also be interested in finding out how grid computing at CERN is helping support research into other particles too, such as the top quark for instance, in which case you might like to watch this excellent episode of 'Stories from the grid'.

A Capella Science is the brain-child of 22-year-old theoretical physics masters student Tim Blair. You can follow A Capella Science on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
